Ask your deli person to shave 1 1/2 pounds of deli roast beef (we like the garlic roast beef for more flavor).

These Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches can easily be made into an awesome and quick appetizer or snack. Use toasted crostini instead of hoagie rolls.

Ingredients:

Beef Eye of Round, thinly sliced or shaved - 1 1/2 lbs.
Green Bell Peppers, thinly sliced - 3/4 cup
Onions, thinly sliced - 3/4 cups
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Hoagie Rolls - 6
Provolone Cheese, thinly sliced - 12 slices

Directions:

Move racks in oven down, so that top rack is 6-8 inches from broiler and set broiler on low.

1. Heat 4 Tbsp olive oil in a sautee pan. Place peppers, onions, salt and pepper into hot pan and sautee over medium heat until softened. Add shaved beef and continue to stir until all beef has browned completely.

2. Slice each hoagie roll horizontally (cutting only 3/4 way through). Gently press open and place on baking stone. Place stone in oven under broiler and toast roll until golden brown. Watch continuously as the roll may burn easily.

3. Divide beef mixture evenly on the 6 hoagie rolls. Top with provolone cheese slices and pop back in oven under broiler until cheese melts and bubbles.
