Stuffed Bacon Burgers with Feta or Cheddar



Serves: 4-6 - Cooking Method: Grill - Total Time: 20 minutes


Stuffed bacon burgers - herbed ground beef or ground turkey burgers are filled with crumbled feta or shredded cheddar cheese and wrapped in bacon slices. Broil in your oven or grill outside. Burgers absorb the smoky bacon flavor and ooze with melted cheese. Kid friendly and great for entertaining!

Ingredients:

Ground beef or turkey - 1 1/2 lbs.
Green Onions, sliced – 3 Tbsp
Eggs – 1
Worcestershire Sauce – 1 Tbsp
Oregano – 2 Tbsp
Black Pepper – 1 tsp
Feta, crumbled or Cheddar, shredded - 1 cup
Bacon Slices - 12

Directions:



If Grilling: Clean grates and set heat to medium.

If Broiling: Place rack 6 inches from heat and turn broiler on.

1. Into medium bowl, mix: ground beef or turkey, green onions, egg, worcestershire sauce, oregano and black pepper.

2. Divide mixture into 6 balls and flatten into patties. Dig a small well in the center of each patty.

3. Place 3 Tbsp. Feta or Cheddar in each well. Pressure meat up from sides of pattie to cover top of well, crimp edges to seal in the cheese.

4. Wrap each patty with 2 slices of Bacon forming an X.

5. Place on broiler 4 to 5 inches from the flame or place over medium heat on your grill. Flip over after 5 minutes and continue cooking until meat reaches desired degree of doneness.
