Ham Steak with Ginger Pear Salsa

Serves: 4-6 - Cooking Method: Stovetop or grill - Total Time: 30 minutes

a Thick, warm ham steaks are topped with cold, ginger pear salsa with crumbled bleu cheese, crushed red pepper and cilantro. Kids will love the ham steak and adults will love the addition of the salsa. Perfect for the whole family - a quick easy recipe for a fast weeknight dinner.

What's for Dinner:

Ham Steaks with Ginger Pear Salsa

Cole Slaw

Buttered Corn on the Cob

Fresh Pineapple Slices

Ingredients:

Thick Ham Steaks - 2-3 lbs.
Diced Pear - 1 1/2 cups
Crumbled Bleu Cheese - 1/2 cup
Ginger, freshly grated - 1 tsp
Cilantro - 2 tsp
Red Pepper Flakes - 1/2 tsp (or less for personal preference)

Directions:

For Grill: preheat grill to medium-high heat.

For stovetop: Spray large skillet with cooking spray and heat pan over medium high heat.

1. Grill or warm in skillet, uncovered for 3-4 minutes. Turn ham steaks over and continue cooking another 3-4 minutes or until heated through.

2. Gently combine the remaining ingredients in a small bowl being careful not to crush the crumbled bleu cheese.

3. Place cooked ham steaks on platter and cover with ginger pear salsa (or serve salsa on the side for finicky eaters).
